Whole30  – The latest band wagon fad diet that I have accepted with open arms.

In the past I have tried many different diets and have had varying success with each of them. The latest diet that I have tried is the Whole 30. The Whole30 is a low carb diet that eliminates processed foods and also prohibits the consumption of grains and legumes. The diet primarily consists of fruits, vegetables and organic meats and it enables the dieter to lose a decent amount of weight in a relatively short period of time. During my time doing the Whole30 I lost about 10 pounds in 30 days. The limitations on the foods that I could consume forced me to look for recipes that would allow me to eat food that I could actually enjoy. I found a variety of good recipes and the diet made me feel really good.

A favorite recipe that I discovered was Whole30 Sloppy Joe Bowls from Physical Kitchness. My mother-in-law loves sloppy joes, but I wasn’t sure if this was something I could eat with my diet. I found this recipe and it was one that the whole family enjoyed.  It was so good that my mother-in-law now prefers this recipe to the regular sloppy joe recipe and I continue to make it regularly.
Here is a link to the recipe.
